I invite you to join me for a year’s worth of entertaining at home with my new book, Entertaining Beautifully, featuring an intimate fireside supper in NYC, a Halloween birthday party for my son, and a springtime lunch in the country. It also includes a glimpse into the homes and parties of friends who inspire me.
I hope these ideas will help you with your own celebrations.
Toast the New Year
I prefer to stay in and invite a small circle of friends on New Year’s Eve in the city. I use gold bowls and glassware to serve pre-dinner snacks and champagne.
Create a stylish home bar for cozy nights in with luxurious shagreen finishes paired with gold. Add pops of color with jewel-hued cocktail picks and coaster sets, and an anthology of cocktail recipes for every occasion.
When entertaining, my starting point is the table. The spark of inspiration might be an alluring set of plates, such as Alberto Pinto’s charming orchid series, or flowers in my garden that have captured my imagination.
Add a spooky touch to your Halloween celebrations with cat plates and bat placemats, elevated with warm seasonal shades, including gold glassware and tangerine table linens. And don’t forget bowls of delicious candy.
Aerin Lauders guide to entertaining draws on family tradition interwoven with her own contemporary vision. This lavishly illustrated book features Aerins approach to hosting milestone and holiday events, from a spring floral dinner to a lobster-roll picnic on a boat. Organized by season, it includes chapters on stylish family and friends, such as a homage to Estée Lauder and her legendary soirées.
